Peekode for Android
Peekode for Android is downloaded straight from this page — not from Google Play. That's called "sideloading", and it simply means your phone asks an extra question before installing. The steps below explain everything in plain words.
Download Peekode (APK)Version 1.0.0 — coming soon. This button goes live with the first release.
How to install (about one minute)
- Tap the download button above. Your phone downloads a file called peekode.apk.
- Open the downloaded file (pull down your notifications and tap it, or find it in your Files app).
- Your phone will say something like "For your security, your phone is not allowed to install unknown apps from this source." That's normal — tap Settings, then switch on "Allow from this source" for your browser.
- Go back and tap Install. Done — look for the green-eye Peekode icon.
Check the file is really ours (optional but smart)
Every official Peekode APK has a fingerprint (SHA-256 checksum). If the fingerprint of your downloaded file matches the one below, it is byte-for-byte the file we published:
The official app comes ONLY from this page. An APK from anywhere else is not from us and may be dangerous.
Two honest things
1. Google Play Protect may warn you. Play Protect shows a caution for any app that doesn't come from Google Play, including ours. The checksum above is how you verify the file is genuine.
2. Updates are not automatic. Sideloaded apps don't self-update. Peekode checks for new versions when you open it and shows a small "Update available" note — installing the update is one tap, but it's your tap.
